Ways to contact us:
1) Through the Seesaw app. It's a free app! We will provide the QR code during our first home visit. You will simply scan the QR code and connect to our classroom Seesaw classroom communication site. I will send and you will instantly receive information about the classroom. Information such as newsletters, reminders, announcements such as the bus is running late or due to winter weather we will dismiss class. You will be able to reply to posts and communicate with me through this app. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CONNECT WITH US THROUGH SEESAW!!! If you need another copy of the QR to connect to our classroom through this free app, please let me know.
2) Another way to communicate is through our classroom Communication Notebooks (purple plasitc folder, your child's name will be on the front). Every child in our class will be given a folder. Please help your child to bring this back and forth from home. Send all communication through this notebook!!! Make sure to send or return all papers in their folder rather than loose in their backpack. You will be helping us to find the notes or papers by placing them in the pocket of the folder.
3) You may text or call my cell phone. My phone number is located in the first newsletter and on the "business card" provided during the first home visit.
4) Email is also available. Our email address is [email protected]. We do check email often to make sure we do not miss any messages from the parents of our children.
5) Lone Oak Elementary 270-538-4120, extension 6542. When you leave a message please leave the number you wish for us to return your call.

Parent Teacher Conferences and Home Visits: We will be available for you to schedule a conference or home visit anytime with best efforts to meet your schedule, just let us know. We encourage you to do so. We are available during school hours 8:00- 3:30 on Fridays.
Throughout the year we will send a note asking you to come in to share the progress of your child. Please take advantage of the opportunity. We are on a team to help your child. Our goal is the same- to work together to help your child grow emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
Parties during the year: We will have a game or craft as well as snacks. The special occasions will last 30 to 45 minutes. All plans per specific party will be added in the monthly newsletter. The following will be planned occasions of special fun:
*Fall Harvest Party on October 31.
*Christmas A gift bag for each child will be provided therefore your child does not need to bring a gift for a gift exchange.
*Valentine's Day (Children may bring a Valentine card for each classmate. We ask that your child trace or write their name on the Valentine cards they will share with their friends. Your child will pass out the Valentines by adding one card in each child's Valentine bag that we will make at school.)
*For Easter, we will have an egg hunt game only rather than a party.
Volunteering in the classroom: You have a standing invitation to come in to visit and help out in the classroom. If you decide to come on a regular basis, two things have to be completed before serving as a classroom volunteer.
1) Attend the volunteer training through Lone Oak Elementary.
2) Each volunteer must be finger printed through the McCracken County Police Dept. Have the results sent to me and I will get them to the correct person.
Box Tops & Banks Grocery receipts:
*We collect Box Tops for Education to help buy materials for our school. Box Tops are
found on General Mills products.
*We also collect Banks (formerly Super Value) receipts as they will give us 1% the total
back to use on classroom needs. We can use this money to buy books, toys or supplies,
as needed. If you have any of these items, please send them to school in your child’s
folder. We will be sending reminders throughout the year.
Scrapbook of your child’s preschool year:
We will keep a file of work that your child has completed throughout the year. All items will be compiled in a three ring notebook. Your child’s scrapbook will be sent home with them on the last day of preschool. You may come in and see their file at anytime. Along with the work, we will have many photographs capturing your child in the preschool world. Next to the Christmas season, the day that each of our children look
through their scrapbook for the first time is my most favorite time in preschool year!
So, look forward to the scrapbook-
it is worth the wait and have loads of fun in the meantime!
